Welcome, 2014!
All the initial excitement of the new year has died down and while I still see the occasional new year, new me posts, they've all pretty much disappeared *insert sigh of relief*. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people changing... but I wouldn't mind if we all thought of a new, maybe individual phrase so that we weren't all ringing in cliches as the clock struck midnight.
As for me, I am looking forward to the new year being a year of growth. I spent much of 2013 in misery. Don't get me wrong I was generally happy, but at the same time I was dying for change. I felt like I was stuck in a place where I couldn't thrive at all. It was not working for me.
I quit my job the day after Christmas. So many people don't understand my reasoning behind it but to me it makes perfect sense. I am trying to grow into a certain type of person. My job was not allowing me to grow. And not at all in the sense that they weren't supportive because I had an amazing support system during my last couple of months, but the job was not for me. I got no sense of satisfaction out of what I was doing and I most often felt defeated. If you hate your job, quit it.
So of course I didn't quit without a back up plan and I'm very excited about work now. I feel happier in a place where I am allowed to express myself as an individual and not just force something on people based on company standards. I no longer feel robotic.
I am looking forward to 2014 with an extremely new insight. This year is all about growing as a person, spiritually, a blogger, a girlfriend, a big sister, and so much more. 2014 is MY year. This year I am looking forward to being not a new person, but a better one. The only way to go is up.

Being 23....
I've been 23 for 23 days (because everyone counts that).
I was never really excited about my birthday this year because in some ways i felt like 23 was the end of my adolescence.... I know... crazy sounding.. But it makes sense in my head. Being 23 officially makes me feel "old"... I know that people say your 20's are the times to live it up, and make mistakes, and just have fun. But i feel like you have to do all that with a plan... because everyone knows time flies when you're having fun.
I feel like i just turned 20 yesterday... and i don't want to be 30 and not be confident in the woman that I am. In a perfect world at 30 ill be married... ill have a baby... and ill be happy in my career... but I'm very much a realist. I know my timeline is not etched in stone and the world wont collapse if things don't happen WHEN or how i want them. but i do refuse to be 30 and unhappy. I see it everyday.... it terrifies me.
So right now in my close-to-mid 20's. I'm planning. I'm learning how to manage my time. I'm working on managing money... and I'm figuring out who I want to be. Because that's what your 20's are for. Finding yourself... And that doesn't just mean drinking until blackout drunk every weekend (though once in a while we all love a good blackout! LOL), and spending all the money that you DO make at the job you had to search months for. My future is very important to me... but I'm going to love being 23. =)

10 Virtues for 2013.
So before the new year hit I started participating in #cleanout13 via @theajzone (on twitter). Like all things that require me to keep up with on a daily basis, i stopped around day 5 because i just cant handle keeping up with daily posting requirements. I'm more of a free spirited person when it comes to blogging, instagramming, and all things social network. I've come to find if its expected, it just most likely wont get done and so I do it when I feel like it and it works out better for me that way. Anyway all that being said I made it about halfway through #cleanout13 but one thing that really stuck out to me was making a list of 10 virtues instead of resolutions that you wanted to work on in the new year. And i figured here would be the perfect place for me to share that of course! So without further ado......
10 Virtues I Want to Adapt in 2013.
1. Love - A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
2. Faith - Complete confidence in a person, plan or set of beliefs etc.
3. Charity - Generosity and helpfulness especially toward the needy or suffering. Aid given to those in need.
4. Selflessness - The quality of unselfish concern for the welfare of others.
5. Patience - The ability to endure delay, trouble, pain or hardship.
6. Peace - Freedom from mental agitation; serenity.
7. Humility - Freedom from mental agitation; serenity.
8. Ambition - Having a strong desire for success or achievement.
9. Persistence - Never-ceasing, relentless.
and last but not least. 10. Thankfulness - Warm friendly feelings of gratitude.
Those are pretty much text book definitions but I think everyone can see where I'm going with them. I'm looking forward to all the challenges, smiles, tears, and joy that the near year is going to bring. And I'm definitely looking forward to growing as a blogger. =)

2012, I wish you well!
I GOT A NEW COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was sure that i was going to curl into a ball of mopey, sorrowy, patheticness without one lol. I was DYING to blog (even though I'm only at the stage where I'm pretty much just talking to myself) and i couldn't bring myself to do it from my cellphone. My grandma has a net book and while i get the whole convenience of having a miniature laptop I was finding it almost impossible to type on. Thus, I was left to just read, blog stalk, and try to find ways to get around the domain blocks at my job (fail LOL) so that I could JUST WRITE!
That being said I am MORE than glad the year is over with. I'm not really big on making resolutions for the new year but I have been noticing some things about myself that I know I need to work on. So, I do look forward to making some changes, not only for the sake of it being a "new beginning" but because I know the things that I have to work on will make me a better, stronger and well-rounded individual. I don't have expectations for 2013 to be perfect and I actually think it is going to be a whole new set of challenges for me but, I've always been a winner. ;)
Goodbye 2012.
